KOCHI: After turning down many Bollywood offers, Amala Paul is set to enter into the Hindi film world by doing a role in director Naresh Malhothra’s next project. The shooting of the movie, in which Arjun Rampal will be in the lead role, is expected to start in Himalayas in October this year.
Amala, who has played as leading lady opposite top stars of all the South Indian languages, had rejected several offers from the Bollywood since it didn't have enough scope for her character.
"When Naresh's project came by, I was kicked. He had seen some of my work in Tamil and approached me for the project. I met him for a narration and was excited. He had already seen my works and was sure that I could pull it off. So, there was no audition. The role was tailor-made for me." She said.
Her Tamil flick Ratchasan directed by Madasupatti Ramkumar is expected to hit the screens soon. She also have a meaty role in Malayalam in director Blessy’s upcoming poject Aadujeevitham 3D, an adaptation of a bestseller written on the basis of real life experience. According to director Blessy, it’s going to be the most challenging role in Amala’s career. In an interview, he also said that Malayalam filmdom is yet to fully realise Amala’s potential.
