Palaniswami ordered a probe into the incident. A total of 27 trekkers were rescued from the blaze in Theni, some 520 km from here. "Of the 27 rescued, 10 persons did not suffer any injuries and others suffered burn injuries," Theni District Collector Pallavi Baldev told reporters.

MADURAI: A massive fire broke out at the Eastern Tower side of the Tamil Nadu's Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple complex last night. More than 40 shops were destroyed in the fire. The fire officials say that the fire started at a toy shop inside the thousand pillar hall near the east tower of the temple around 10 pm.
