PUNE: The Youth Olympic Games came as a healer for Manu Bhaker , as the shooter clinched the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Tuesday.
This is India's second gold at the Games and the fifth overall, including three silver medals.
The teenage shooting star Manu Bhaker was also the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent for the 3rd Youth Olympic Games to be held in Buenos Aires from October 6-18.
"This is an important win for me. It will be a morale booster, as I look forward with an aim to bring home more laurels," Bhaker said after winning the gold.

The 16-year-old from Jhajjar, Haryana sprung into the limelight after she became the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup and she won two gold medals in the 2018 ISSF World Cup held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Manu continued her winning run at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, scored 388/400 points at 2018 Commonwealth Games in women's 10m air pistol qualifying round and qualified for the finals.
In the final round of the women's 10m air pistol event, she secured the gold medal with setting a new Commonwealth Games record of 240.9 points.
However, In 2018 Asian Games, she failed to win a medal there, as she finished 6th in the final.
“This will help her regain her confidence. She was disappointed after the Asiad and World Championships. She had shot well in both the events, but a medal eluded her. We are glad that finally, she has got success.” Said Manu Bhaker’s father Ramkishnan Bhaker.
